Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, and if selected, your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) will be reviewed for any disqualifications. This role involves daily travel between designated map areas to complete work tasks, either in a company vehicle or your own.
This position requires walking between 4 and 7 miles daily in various weather conditions. Depending on your role (meter reader, meter technician, or gas line survey technician), you may also need to carry equipment weighing between 4 and 25 pounds.
Potential hazards in this role include slips, trips, falls, encounters with animals, insects, injuries, and interactions with dissatisfied customers. Prior to working independently, you will receive thorough training and be provided with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to help mitigate these risks.
Yes, meter readers will need to input data into handheld devices, while leak surveyors will be responsible for documenting their work either manually or through computer entry.
Yes, all our technicians fall under the DOT PHMSA guidelines and candidates will have to pass a background check and a drug screen. Technicians will be subjected to random drug screening throughout their employment. We adhere to federal guidelines, which means we conduct screenings for marijuana and other substances.
Yes, the training is paid, consisting of both classroom instruction and hands-on field training. Upon completion, every new hire must pass an Operator Qualification (OQ) test before working independently in the field. Failure to pass the OQ test may result in dismissal.
All Corporate Office/Manufacturing Plant employees will have to pass a pre-employment background check and a drug screen prior to starting with Heath.
For Corporate roles, we operate in a hybrid work environment with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
However, roles at the Manufacturing Plant and Repair Facility are fully onsite, as in-person presence is essential for performing the assigned duties.
