Navigating the new EPA source performance standard

Effective May 7th, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has introduced a new source performance standard (NSPS) for regulating greenhouse gases. This new ruling effects methane (CH4) and volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions from oil and natural gas industries. Compliance affects new sites as well as those re-constructed after December 2022.

How can Heath help?

Here at Heath, we offer technology that can aid compliance with these new regulations, allowing the entire fugitive methane emission to be captured and quantified accurately. Whether the challenge is accuracy, complexity, or repeatability in sampling, the SEMTECH HI-FLOW 2 is the only high-volume sampler on the market today that offers fully automated testing tailored for OOOOb compliance and daily audit verifications while providing the lowest detection limits and highest leak rate measurements possible.

SEMTECH HI-FLOW 2 Features

  • Compliant with 40 CFR 60 Subpart OOOOb
  • Utilizes Tunable Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) for the accurate measurement of the fugitive methane
  • Direct quantification of leaks in the 0.0005 to 25 CFM range with accuracy better than 5%.
